A quick message to let you know that I finally arrived in Lae and all is well. After 6 days of “Tok Pisin “language training and orientation in Port Moresby I flew into Lae last Saturday afternoon for a good dose of culture shock.
The heat here has to be experienced to be believed. The people I have met so far and my new work colleagues at UNITECH have been very helpful and friendly. I move into my new home this afternoon after staying in the University guest house for the past few days.
It is still all new and will be for some time but my 1st impressions are positive.
I will start to update my website www.schilt.info tomorrow, so stay posted.
I have been given a UNITECH email address but will continue to use my hotmail address for private email. I have been allocated an office and telephone which I am sharing with Goasa. The phone number is : +6754734414.
