Last night I experienced my 1st Earthquake in PNG. It was 12:30am this morning and I was in bed asleep (was asleep). I woke up feeling a tremor, everything was shaking, the bed, the house, the curtains, like my vision was slightly blurred due to the shaking. This is the 2nd earthquake I have experienced, the 1st one was back when the earthquake hit Newcastle, I was living on the Central Coast at the time. This one felt much stronger. I felt powerless and scared. Nature has a way of demonstrating how insignificant we really are. I felt insignificant anyway. The tremors probably lasted for about one minute and then everything went quiet. I got up, went outside, lit up a cigarette and thought : only in PNG !! By the way, after the ciggie I felt a lot more relaxed.
