I arrived in Lae on Saturday, 16th of April. The following Tuesday the Department of Business (DBS) organised a dinner at one of the local chinese restaurants (Aviat Club) to formally welcome a candidate for Head of Department (HOD). Note that the position of Head of Department has been open for a number of years. On this occasion there was only one candidate for the position. It turns out that he has been offered the position but as far as I’m aware has not yet accepted. All in good time, all in PNG time !!!…
