Monday morning…

Monday morning, 8:00am. Just as difficult getting out of bed on a Monday morning here in PNG as what it was getting out of bed back in Sydney. I could have done with at least one more day off.

Isn't this what makes a person strong ?  To push on regardless ! To get up out of bed, even if one doesn't feel like getting out of bed. To go to work, even if one doesn't feel like going into work. Does this really make us stronger ?  I better hope so.

Had a really relaxing weekend. As I mentioned in my last blog, I had a tooth extracted last Friday morning. Friday evening and Saturday day, I spent relaxing and mostly sleeping. At 3pm Saturday afternoon I got up, showered, dressed etc….  and got picked up at 4:30pm (by Bas a Nova) and driven into Lae town to meet Jane. Hung around Jane's place (at ADRA) for a couple of hours before heading of into the Lae Int for dinner. It was Jane's birthday a couple weeks ago. Jane is also a volunteer with AVI and currently is working for ADRA (a 7th Day Adventist NGO) in the HIV/AIDS team. We would have got together sooner for Jane's birthday except that Jane headed off to Rabaul for 1x week. Anyway, we had dinner at the Lae Int. and then adjourned to the piano bar for a few “drinks”. Who said you could'nt have a “social” of a good time here in PNG ?? I crashed at Jane's place Saturday night and Sunday, after bacon and eggs we headed back to UNITECH and visited The Rainforest Habitat, here on the grounds of UNITECH. Incredible display of local birds and flora. Something nice to do on a Sunday afternoon.

After Jane dropped me off at home, I ended up catching up with Goasa and family and then went home for some more resting, a DVD and an early night.

Monday's is lecture day. I have a 2 hour lecture at 10am and then a 1 hour lecture at 3pm this afternoon. Am I ready ?  50/50. So…. better get out of here and finalise the other half !!
