On my way into work this morning…

I left home this morning in the pouring rain. It has a habit of doing this in Lae. People with an aversion to wet weather would certainly find living in Lae a living hell. The weather has never really bothered me, one way or another. When the sun is out and the sky is clear, it's a beautiful day. When it's pouring rain and the sky is overcast, it's a beautiful day.

Everyday is a beautiful day !!

Anyway, I was walking into work this morning, in the pouring rain… (with umbrella). At the end of my street I bump into “Jimmy”, he walked out of the house on the corner. We greet each other and say good morning. Jimmy then says to me : “I used to read your website”. I replied : “What? Not any more?”

I don't think he cottoned on to my joke - what joke I hear you ask? - nevermind…

So, we started to converse and we ended up walking into work together (in the rain). It turns out that Jimmy juist got back from Lancaster in the UK where he just completed a Masters (something to do in Operations Research). Jimmy would read my blog regularly and said that he really enjoyed an article I did a few months ago called : “A sunday morning stroll into work”. Why I asked? It turns out that his house on campus was in one of the photos !!!

A small world indeed !!!

On top of that he then went on to mention that he saw a photo of his wife amongst the photos I posted from PNG Independence Day (@ UNITECH).

What a blow out !!

“PNG - The Land of the Unexpected” or “If I believed in god I would have described this coincidence as a small miracle” or “There is a joy in giving” or…

There are others…

Through a service from a web company called Sitemeter I have access to a whole range of blog statistics. I have observed regular readers from : Japan, UK, USA, Netherlands, Australia and Pacific Islands.

Happy to be of service !
