Today Sunday, a mini cultural show is being held out the front of the campus main gate. Like with all PNG cultural shows, lots of sing sing, traditional dress and plenty of other activities (eg: dartboards, dartboards and more dartboards).
With camera at hand and buai in mouth I wandered around for about an hour or so. Couple of dozen photos and as usual, many “willing” subjects.

The above photo shows a sing sing group from the Simbu Province. Guess what? The women are covered in “engine oil” !!! A Simbu man whom I spoke to confirmed this. Imagine the job of washing it off !!
Photography could quite easily become a new hobby !!
The photos have been posted to the Taraka Cultural Show 2005 photo album. I have added a caption to each photo providing a bit of story.
The friendliness and hospitality of the PNG people never ceases to surprise me….
