My 1st day back in Lae Had a great night’s sleep in my own bed after sleeping on the hard floor in Wagang village for four nights. Got up feeling rested but my left foot was aching like mad. Could barely walk on it plus I could feel a little pain nodule emerging around the groin area…

Got up just before dawn. It was very peaceful, just the rooster going off it’s head at first and of course the insects. Then people slowly started stirring, the fires were being lit and the village was slowly waking to the start of a new day…

Over a week back Downunder…
It’s been over a week now since I landed at Sydney airport, back for the xmas break. An eye-opener indeed. Reverse culture shock is a fact (for me anyway).
There are things that I already miss from PNG, at the same time I’m having a grand old time staying at Mum’s, sunny and beachside Umina Beach, catching up with family and friends, lots of dinners and coffees…

The last week has been very busy. Trying to catchup with as many family and friends as possible before the xmas – new year break. And it’s been great! If there is one thing I miss living in PNG – it’s my family and friends…
