Eagle has landed !!!
Touched down in Cairns a couple of hours ago. 6 hour wait before my connecting flight down to Sydney. Went to Rusty's markets and ate some Shushi, followed by a pistachio and hazelnut gelato. Now sitting down at a cafe by the ocean drinking a flat white and posting a blog entry from my own laptop !! Technology !! A cafe with a wireless network !! No such thing in PNG. Missing the place already. Almost had a cry at Cairns airport. Felt empty. This too will pass and from emptiness to joy in no time. So looking forward to seeing Mum and Yol at the airport later today. From the jungle to civilisation in 1.5 hours.
Time for another coffee I think.
So long as I laugh more than I cry all is well.
