Wagang Village – Series 2 (Part2)

In hindsight, day 2 of my stay in Wagang was the highlight of this visit.
As is normal in village life and especially for the men, we got of to an early but easy start to the day. We had planned to walk from the village area down to the coast, about 3 hours walk

The preacher wakes me up again,
and I am annoyed.
Sunday morning !
Every Sunday morning !!
He rants and he raves and he sings,
others follow
the noise gets louder

Wagang Village – Series 2 (Part1)

Monday, 21st of November – I am heading back to Wagang village and I am excited. It is Monday morning and I am told that the bus to Wagang leaves from the Rainbow store in town anytime after midday

My 2nd day back…

and it still feels pretty weird

My 1st day back in Sydney…

I have now been back in Sydney for exactly 24 hours. So, how is it?

The above photo was taken on the Tuesday on our walk from the village to the coastal area. The walk took us around 3 hours and on the way we stopped and did some hunting and fishing

Finally some photos from my recent visit to Wagang village. The above photo is of Jethro, one of the clan elders fron Wagang village. I was his guest and stayed in his house. His wife Hane and daughter Anna were great hosts and cooked and looked after me like I was one of their own
