…there are 3 types of people that come to live and work in PNG:
1) Missionaries
2) Mercenaries
3) Misfits
If you are a person working and living in PNG – which one are you?
I'm a proud “misfit” and have all but lost respect for “1″ and “2″ – in fact nowadays I have as little as possible to do with these types.
In my opinion:
“1″ 's – fail to see the truth, power and beauty inherent in the “old” ways. Obessed with conversion and are convinced that they are right – little respect whatsover for another man or women's truth.
“2″ 's – pillage at any cost. Are more than happy for PNG to remain a developing country – so that pillaging can continue. Too scared to interact with the locals as equals. Never catch PMV's.
“3″ 's – mixes at a grassroots level. Chews buai and makes an effort to learn to speak Tok Pisin Tru. Can be seen travelling on the local PMV's. Has respect for the “old” ways and likes to learn from the locals.
