…with camera in hand !!
I was on my way into town today with Eli and a fight broke out at the bus stop just outside the main gate of campus. A PMV driver bought a ciggie from one of the street sellers and refused to pay the lousy 40t (18c). I could tell the smoke seller was not very happy after he hit one of the PMV windows as it was pulling out from the curb. The PMV came to an abrupt halt and the bos cru jumped out of the PMV and headed straight for the seller throwing punches.
The smoke seller, a short man on the skinny side and not much of a fighter to look at, went off!! The situation started to get out of control as some of the wantoks of the smoke seller started to gather around. At one stage the fight moved into the PMV and I heard later that money was stolen from the PMV dashboard. Things looked like they might get even further out of control when the driver realised he was outnumbered and took off.
I have witnessed quite a number of street fights in the past 10 months but have never managed to get as close as I did today with my camera.
