Last Saturday on my way back from Nadzab (Lae airport) after picking up Goasa’s Dad we had a stopover at Eriku to do a quick shop.
A couple of weeks ago I was contacted by one of my blog regulars – Tony. Tony lived in Lae from 1974 to 1979 as a young boy and a photo I posted of the Kickboxing venue triggered Tony to email me a photo of what that very building looked like back in 1975. Turns out it was the local RSL club !!
Anyway, I suggested to Tony (as he has not been back to Lae since 1979) that if wanted any photos of Lae surrounds to let me know. His request : if I had time and found myself in the vicinity of the Lae International School perhaps I could take a couple of shots.
In Eriku last Saturday and after doing some shopping and seeing I had my camera with me I decided to take some shots of Tony’s old school and various other shots of Eriku itself.
These photos can be viewed in the Eriku photo album.
