Today (Monday) I came down with a shocking dose of “Mondayitis”. I was irritable, frustrated and pissed off. And not for any particular reason. I put it down to the fact that it was Monday morning.
Lucky for me I was able to “hide” in my office as I had no classes all day. By the time I got home the affliction had almost diasppeared although it didn't totally pass until well after I hit the land of zed later in the evening.
Wikipedia defines “Modayitis” as…
Mondayitis is a neologism used in pop culture to describe the tired and apathetic feeling many experience upon the return to work after the weekend. Mondayitis is the same as having a case of the Mondays, a term which gained popularity after its use in the 1999 film Office Space.
A possible reason for Mondayitis is that human circadian rhythms are incompatible with the normal 40-hour working week.
Mondayitis' medical credibility has become the subject of recent
debate, as many individuals claim that the “condition” is in fact a
diagnosable illness.
Oh well….
Thank god for the following sayings:
“It too shall pass”
“The best is yet to come”
