Monday morning!

And the start of another week.

I am facing a busy schedule over the next few days so today's posting will be in point form:

1) Never really write much about the work itself. Other things seem to preoccupy my energy and motivation much more so than work itself. The teaching is still a very rewarding experience although I don't seem to be getting into it as much as last semester. Suppose I have grown a little bored and tired of all the other stuff that goes along with academia such as : meetings, preparing lessons, marking, departmental politics and general lack of decent resource. This week is a busy week as I have some catching up to do after last week's physical and emotional rollercoaster ride.

2) Since the “sacking” of my housekeeper – Eli has offered to help out with the housework, ie cleaning and laundry etc…  when she stays over she cooks. This has worked out well. At this stage I have no plans whatsover of getting another housekeeper or gardener. Both the ones I had just seemed to encroach too much on my personal life.

3) Back on the smokes. Shitful things. I'm off them and then I'm on them – always struggling. I go OK for a little while and then the “I” just gives in and the chimney is up and running again. I will persist – with smoking or not smoking is the question !!

4) I have a heap of photos that still need posting and these will just have to wait. There are some great shots from the Coffee Festival and also from my trip to Finschhafen. You will just have to wait – na na na na na…… !!

5) There are moments when I feel that I have reached a “point of no return” as far as living in PNG. I need to start thinking very soon about my life beyond 2006. By “point of no return” I mean that I sense that  somehow I will stay on in PNG for a few more years. I certainly have not locked in on anything yet and remain open minded about future plans. Should I choose to leave PNG – leaving this place aint going to be easy. It goes without saying that I will be applying “due diligence” to my decision making process.

6) The adventure continues….
