Four pairs of boxing gloves for a hand-made bilum !
In a recent post (Thanks to the generosity of CCK Academy in Sydney…) – I wrote about the recent donation by CCK Academy (Sydney) to the local Lae Kickboxing clubs of $100. This generous act was sufficient for the clubs to purchase 4 pairs of boxing clubs for their training.

So with the $100 in hand (or should I say Kina) – John Wal and myself ventured into town last week to purchase the gloves. We headed into the local “Brian Bell” store and I managed to capture a shot of John at the store counter…
I headed into town last Saturday with the intention of taking some photos of the gloves in “action”. Unfortunately John was not present on the day and as the gloves were in his possession the photo thing never quite happened. Better luck next Saturday!
When we initially made contact with CCK – John's wife starting making a bilum to send to CCK as a gift. The morning John Wal came in with the bilum and before we headed into town to send it downunder, I managed to capture a shot of John in my office holding the bilum…
