I'm heading off to Wagang-Luhu for the day. After I few days of intense marking I need a bit of a breather plus I promised my friend Jethro (Wagang-Luhu clan elder) that I would come and visit him. The original plan was to stay for two or three nights (on the beach) but there is just too much work on at the moment to take that many days off work.
It is now 8:30am and I need to work my way down to the Lae main markets by 10:00am. The Wagang-Luhu truck/PMV leaves from the Rainbow Store in town which is just next to downtown main markets. I was at the Unigate bus stop about half an hour ago and it's packed so I decided to come into the office for a quick email and blog whilst morning peaking settles down a little. Another half hour or so and I will check if morning PMV traffic has quietened down and then head off for my one day village visit.
Besides the break I need from marking – this place is driving me nuts at the moment. There are days when I just love being in PNG and there are other days… well, I'd end up swearing if I told you how I felt. I know my stress levels are high when I start to react to the small things around me and I've been doing a fair bit of reacting lately. Besides, I have not been regular with my meditation practice and this augments the stress levels by orders of magnitude.
