A pain in the proverbial!
With my time here at UNITECH slowly drawing to an end, I have commenced the employment termination process. There are forms to fill out and people to see. Paperwork – paperwork – and more paperwork!!
I have a concern regarding the payout of my entitlements by UNITECH by the 31st of December, which is when my contract here at UNITECH comes to an end. Of particular concern is the situation with Superannuation. The “Super” contributions here are very generous, with the employee contributing 5% and the employer (UNITECH) contributing a whopping 15% – in my books this adds up to a substantial amount of money.
I rang the Super fund this morning to enquire as to whether they had received any contributions from UNITECH on my behalf…
Guess what?
The fund has no record whatsoever of my surname or payroll number – what this means is that UNITECH Admin. appear not to have forwarded any contributions on my behalf in the 20 months that I have worked here. In fact – this is one of the reasons National Academic staff are currently on strike… they allege that UNITECH have not forwarded any Super contributions for quite some time. So where's the cash?
More to the point… Where's my money?
It makes my gut churn… but I have a plan!
I will not be leaving this place until every cent owed to me has been paid into my bank account.
This probably means that I won't be home for xmas cause I'm not booking that flight home until all monies owed are paid.
Just another item added to the agenda for the “committee” to discuss as I try and get to sleep of a night time.
But it's only money…

tingting bilong yu…
