It's been weird not doing any blog postings for a few days. For the past two years I have been very consistent with my blogging and have posted stories an/or photos 99% of the time.
A couple of days ago – I was almost tempted to declare a two week blog “holiday” for say two weeks. No luck… it would appear that I just cannot help myself – I'm gone!
Besides, Mum has just gone on broadband and wireless to boot!! This means that I can basically sit outside Mum's place in the Sun room or lounge room, with my laptop of course and surf the net and blog. My 73 year old Mum on broadband!! The differences between cultures and what people do is worlds apart. I have this image i my mind of old folks back in PNG – squatting in front of their huts and breaking firewood for the evening meal. Here Mum's surfing the net, sending emails and talking on the phone over VoIP. Amazing!
Great having access to reasonably fast internet connection. Personal productivity is that much better. Can't get to carried away with it all as when I head back to PNG – I'm not sure what the internet situation will be at Goroka Base Hospital. Withdrawal symptoms are probably on the cards!!
So, I will be taking advantage of the current situation and working through the backlog of PNG photos. In fact the photos from this year's coffee festival up at Goroka are starting to appear and can be viewed if you go to the Goroka Coffee Festival 2006 photo album.
In the meantime I hope yo all have had a relaxing and peace filled xmas. And no need to fret about the lack of recent posts…
