Wishlist – The two boxes have arrived !!

I am happy to inform everyone that the two boxes that I posted last Thursday from Woy Woy post office have safely arrived!!! As a part of the “wishlist” program I was kindly given the following items by family and friends during my five weeks in Sydney

“Back on a PMV”

1st day back at work
after a 5 week break,
and my 1st PMV ride
into town

Back in PNG !

Arrived back in Lae last Saturday at around 2pm. As much as I enjoyed my 5x weeks downunder, coming back to Lae on Saturday had a feeling of coming “home”.
It’s great to be back!!

“Goodbye”

Was never one for goodbyes,
torn away again.
Ever since I was a young lad,
always goodbye

Thank You

As I sit in my hotel room in Cairns, the night before heading back “home”, I reflect on the five weeks just gone by (Wireless available from the hotel room on my laptop)! The first “thing” that comes to mind is : gratitude. Thank you family and friends for the last five weeks. Your love and giving has been abundant, thank you

Photos from my trip north…

I have started to post photos from my trip up the north coast. You can view these in the XMAS 2005 photo album. Motorways, friends, family and storms. It’s all there !!

Wagang Village – Series 2 (Part7)

During my 1st week in PNG I was in Port Moresby doing 5 days of language (Tok Pisin) training and an induction into the local cultural. This training was conducted by an organisation called “National Volunteer Services” (NVS), the PNG equivalent of Australian Volunteers International (AVI) if you like. Marcus and Egma were two of the NVS staff I became friendly with during this first week in PNG

“Port Moresby and hospitals”

The best room in the best hospital in POM,
lucky me!
A few screams from the street,
the odd gunshot.
Safe.

The Wishlist stirs again…

The wishlist has been in suspended animation for some time now. Since arriving in Sydney and talking to people about my experiences in PNG, many have offered to donate clothes and other items for me to take back to Lae

Monday morning…

Monday morning and many people here in Sydney going back to work after their xmas holidays. Great stuff having a day off when others must trudge along to their respective work places. As relaxed as my life has become over the past 10 months since leaving Hornsby Council, I still enjoy the feeling of not working when others must
