“Why the frustration?”

Was it the 45 minute wait in the queue at the ANZ bank?
or the Computer store that hasn’t come through with the
printer quote yet?

Was it the pushing and the shoving at the bus stop?
or the chaos at queues in every dam store I entered?

Is it because we are still in the Transit Lodge waiting for
a house?
or is it because the Hospital’s PO Box has been shut down
due to no payment?

Why the frustration?
Why me?
Why?

Yes… why!?

Stress…
the tension rises
and I see red,
like my insides are about to catch fire!

What is it about Papua New Guinea?
This place!
What is it about Papua New Guineans?
These people!

So calm amid chaos,
so patient,
we’re all so alike,
yet so different!

Why this need for control and order?

Why not just relax?
and trust
and flow…
with the process.

Perhaps one day…

Perhaps.
