I forgot to mention…

Yesterday, the US
Ambassador to PNG visited Goroka
General
Hospital
.
A huge event for the Hospital; Board members and management all wearing their
Sunday best, also for the Hospital staff and anyone else in the vicinity at the
time of the diplomats visit. For me personally, I totally avoided the whole
business. Besides, I had the break-in “aftermath” to deal with.

(Just
let me get on my soap box here)

I have nothing against Mrs. Leslie Rowe (Ambassador)
– the person. She might very well be the nicest person you will ever meet. My
point here is that she wasn’t here in Goroka on a private visit but rather as a
government representative to her country, unfortunately – the US!

(Thank
you for still listening)

Why would I show or offer support and
friendliness to someone representing a country that has and is torturing,
pillaging and killing innocent folk in the name democracy and freedom?

Why would I stand there, smile and shake
hands with someone representing a country that shows little to no respect and
has next to no tolerance for any nation or any people that choose to differ?

(Still
listening?)

How is it that we live in a world that
allows bullies to get a way with “murder”? What happened to free choice? Is
this the life we choose as a race, as a people and as a planet? Why do we
create and shape an existence on Earth that resembles Hades? Have we not learnt
anything from history? When will the Peace Chiefs re-emerge? Will we ever live
war free?

The violence that remains within will
inevitably find expression.
