“Community living”

As Eli washes Isaac,
Mama Olgan makes a fire,
Uncle Joel plants bananas,
And I cook breakfast.

All contributing,
All participating,
All sharing.
Balance.

We sit down and drink coffee,
We talk and laugh.
The sun is shining,
And the sky is clear.

Nearby church bells ring,
Young Gulo trims a Hedge.
Isaac cries,
Gelo wags her tail.

Community living…

Supportive.
All have a place,
All have a purpose.

It is Sunday,
Peaceful like.
The birds sing,
And the marketeers setup shop.

People walking past,
On their way to church.
Someone knocks at the gate,
Not a sound out of Gelo.

More gardening,
More coffee,
And more sharing.
Community living.

All chip in and all help,
I hold Isaac,
Gelo lays a barker egg,
And the coffee slowly runs out.

Some sit,
Some work,
Some nap,
Some talk.

All have their place.
I rant and…
I write.
Community living.
