Here are a few of the photos from yesterday's trip out to the
“Hut” at Wara-Guma in Kaubasis. Uncle Fred was kind enough to drive
out there as we had a bunch of timbers that Uncle Joel needed to put together
window and door frames and also some wire for fencing. It was quiet an
experience making the trip with Uncle Fred as he seemed to know every 2nd
person along the way – the fact that he used o own seven beer stores in the
Goroka area probably had a lot to do with the familiarity.
Uncle Fred's Land Cruiser on the way out to Kaubasis. We were held up for half
hour or so at a section of road where they were doing some road works. Uncle
Fred's at the steering wheel with some of his “lads” in the back with
the timbers for the “Hut”…

The “Hut” as it looked yesterday. Those flowers like flag poles on
the roof are actually local orchids. Except for some minor interior work – the
“Hut” is just about there…

Uncle Joel and Eli cooking lunch. We ate rice, local greens and some trout that
one of the kids caught in the nearby river. Surely a feast fit for king!!

And one of the last photos taken just before heading back to town was of the
“crew”. It's quite an amazing experience every time we head out to
the village to sit down, eat and share with these folk that are building this
“Hut”for Eli for the two of us out of the goodness of their hearts…

“Hut” @ Waraguma (Kaubasis) photo album.
