“Farewell Tante Tonia…”

(In dedication to my dearest of aunt’s who sadly passed away last Thursday in Amsterdam)

Farewell dear Aunt…
As you leave us,
May your journey into the beyond,
Be a safe and peaceful one.

Although we lived far apart,
You were always close to our hearts,
The memories from childhood
And our time in Holland,
Always strong,
Like it only happened yesterday.

Now that you are once again with your “king”,
I know you have found true happiness.
You both gave so much
And expected very little in return.

You were loved and appreciated by all that knew you…
And in your travels,
Should you run into George, Hans or any of the “others”,
Please give them all a big hug for me.

As much as it hurts to say goodbye,
It is the fate of all humans,
To be born and then one day to die.

Tante Tonia,
It was a privilege to have known you,
my heart will always love you
and my mind always remember you.

Farwell dear aunt,
You were the best!!
