One women's view on the rape situation in PNG…

Eli wrote the following on rape which we have just emailed to both newspapers for possible publication.

I would like to comment regarding the news story: “Gangsters abduct and rape girl”, in one of the local newspapers dates 7th of November 2007. It huts me deeply every time I read about rape. I'm scared that the world is no longer safe. I'm sure there are women everywhere feeling the same. What is it that us women are scared of? Animals or monsters? The very thing that we created from our love. Our sons, brothers, uncles, fathers, husbands, lovers, you name it. Where will our beautiful country end up, if certain males continue to violate the very beings that gave them life? These hideous crimes are breaking down our inner strength and are destroying our pride and beauty. There are mny females victims who suffer and become helpless. It's about time society passed a “special” law to punish these animals: Castration!!

On a lighter note… we are headed Madang way tomorrow morning and will be spending a couple of days with Nick and Bernadette.

Looking forward to a couple of days of R&R and visiting somewhere I have not yet been too.

(Possibly no blog posts or next few days!)
