Been of the air for the past few days!
Mainly due to weekend’s battle with “public enemy #1″…

(Hangovers have never been my forte and the “fun” night always leaves me worse for wear).
A few days later and I’m still not fully recovered….
Poor me… poor me… pour me another!!
The other thing that has kept me occupied almost to the point of obsession is this Linux thing. I like to fiddle and inevitably something breaks and when it breaks I gotta fix it. And so and so on!!
For example… I downloaded and applied the latest fixes and patches for Ubuntu 7.04 the other day and lo and behold a few things stopped working. Like… my laptop no longer recognised the battery. After a little research and some “more” learning. I found out that the ACPI driver was broken when moving to a later revision of the kernel. In the end I had to back out one of the ACPI drivers back to an earlier version. Now all works fine!!
On another note… our dear Manam (the cat) has gone missing! Eli took her to the village this past weekend and Manam just disappeared – when it was time to return the little critter was nowhere to be seen. Hopefully she will turn up this week. Otherwise…
I have decided to get the Bamboo Man on to it. I have mentioned the Bamboo man before and he uses a special piece of bamboo to find things (and thieves). In the event that one of the local “drug bodies” has taken Manam and done a bit of a cat on the spit… the bamboo man will find him and what the bamboo ends doing to the culprit is not pretty at all.
More to be revealed….
Now that emails and blogging is out of the way… I’m of to Linuxland!!!
(Sorry folks….)
