Was a private sort of a day.
A 10 point summary:
1) Had “half” the clan over last night. I think about 15 bunked down for the night - young and old. All up from Lae for Bubu Kandoni's Haus Krai at Fatao Village. Community living (almost) a la PNG Highland's style.
2) The folks next door partied hard last night (PNG style). Until around lunch time today. The swearing, fighting and general drunkenness kept the 15 of us pretty much from having a restful night's sleep.
3) Spoke with the folks back at home on a couple of occasions today. It was well worth skipping the visit to Fatao to get to hear their voices and speak with them for a bit. Spoke with Mum and the “crew” at around 4:00pm and then with “couz & Noel” at around 8:30pm. The marvels of modern technology!
4) I remain adamant that “couz” is the bestest xmas present giverer ever!
5) Ah yes! Before I forget. Princess (the pig) is not pregnant afterall! False alarm. (The pig farm might have to wait!).
6) Had a “single bloke for a day” meal tonight… 2 minute noodles with scrambled eggs!
7) Milestone reached! I have now successfully posted the next round of photos to the blog within the “bounds” of Linux. Some great shots of Eli with her pops earlier this year.
8) This one should have gone somewhere between points 1 and 2… nearly had a blue with some street boys out the front this morning. A couple “off your face” lads that had been partying next door all night started carrying on and I was not a bit impressed - neither were they when I told them to “piss-off” and then totally ignored them - I had the shits bad because they had been up all night making a racket and generallyt being inconsiderate.
9) Head to Wara-guma” 1st thing in the morning… finally!
10) My xmas present this year to myself… a little bit of old-fashioned privacy. It's been great having some space. Having said that… I think I would find it difficult to go back to a solo styled existence.
11) There is no eleven!
12) Just because theres no 11 does not mean there's no 12!!
13) This is point 13!!!
14) See ya in a week or so.
15) Can be contacted on the Digicel number (at the village) if the need arises.
