Most ballot boxes were transported back to the central counting area on the same day that polling took place (9/7/07). Others, especially ballot boxes from the rural areas took a little longer…
Still got issues with Internet
I am still experiencing problems with my internet connection and therefore have not posted anything the past day or so. It is now 6:15pm Sunday afternoon and somehow I managed to connect this time…

Run away street boy gets nabbed
I can be found most afternoon’s strolling the streets of West Goroka. I have a soft spot for street boys and there’s lots of them hanging around the West Goroka shops. I inevitably stop for a chat or a chew or both. Some sell buai or smokes, others sell band-aids, batteries or clothes. Anything really, anything that sells. In PNG survival is difficult and the street sellers do their best to make an extra few bucks…

Voting in Eastern Highlands gets under way!
The folk of the Eastern Highlands finally got there chance today to cast their votes and elect new political leaders for the next 5 years. Politics in PNG is messy to say the least and if the whole election thing was a big circus then the voting itself would be the Main Event…
