It finally happened!

My laptop has packed it in! (Boooooohhh…..!!!)

The hard disk is OK which means I have not lost any data or information (hard work) - this deserves a yeeehaaahhhh - don't you think?

I have borrowed a laptop from work and have just rebuilt a basic machine which will allow to at least connect to the net and do emails/blogging etc…

I wanted to ditch XP and start fresh with Linux - but was not able to successfully extract an Ubuntu (Feisty) ISO image to CD - so had to settle for XP which will allow me to at least “connect”.

By the way… we got back from the “hut” yesterday and it was absolutely superb. It rained cats and dogs everyday and it was muddy as hell but all had a great time. The extra time in the village led to some really nice people interaction. More on the village stay in tomorrow's post.

Right now I'm going to get off this laptop - have some dinner and spend some time with… yes! the visitors!!

A belated happy new year while I'm at it!
