After two years of thinking about it and talking about - I finally made it to my first kick-boxing class!!

A whole two hours worth and it feels great!

Been a long time since I have done any form of physical exercise and it’s never too late to start (even at 48!).

The instructor is John Wal whom I met and befriended during my two years in Lae. As it turned out we both moved up to Goroka at around the same time. John’s one of the strongest men I have ever met - he has a hand shake that is stronger than iron. The sort of guy you want to have as a friend rather than foe - so to speak.

Here’s a photo I took of John down in Lae when he gave me a bilum which was made by his wife to forward on to CCK Academy in Sydney….
