XMAS / New Year at “WaraGuma”… (Part 1)
It is just now that I am starting to get on top of work. Work, meaning: work-work (Hospital), emails, blogging etc The laptop “crash” combined with an almost obsession with Linux things got pushed back so to speak…
Three parcels from home….
A couple of weeks ago I picked up three parcels from Goroka Post Office. They were xmas parcels and were sent to me by the family back in Sydney…

A disturbing comment…
I posted a short story yesterday titled: “Over the weekend”. This story tells how three members of the same family died over the weekend in what was believed to be sorcery related…
Over the weekend…
And somewhere nearby three members of the same family died within a 12 hour period. The first to die was a middle aged male. Cause of death: unknown and /or suspicious. The other two were females and they got accused by the locals of sorcery and got chopped with bush knives and then burnt to ashes in their homes…

A week in fear!
After my laptop died I have been busy “recovering” my data. The last few days have been frustrating and stressful as it was touch and go. On top of one of my backups failing I had all sorts of issues trying to get my data back…
It finally happened!
My laptop has packed it in! (Boooooohhh..!!!) The hard disk is OK which means I have not lost any data or information (hard work) – this deserves a yeeehaaahhhh – don’t you think? I have borrowed a laptop from work and have just rebuilt a basic machine which will allow to at least connect to the net and do emails/blogging etc…
