Starts to take shape but without much substance yet.
As mentioned in a previous post I have been busy with the setting up of a new website – Trupela Tok V4 – the “V” stands for version by the way!
Although an enjoyable and challenging task – by no means simple or easy. The learning curve is steep and trying work out the structure and to store what where is making me go around in circles.
My original thinking was to integrate Joomla with Wordpress and then to use Gallery2 for photos. After a little research it would appear that the integration of a Joomla website and Wordpress is not worth the effort.
So…
The plan as it stands is as follows:
1) Build a Joomla website as a frontend or portal.
2) Setup Wordpress for blogging and blogging only.
3) Have RSS feeds from Joomla to Wordpress so that recent posts are displayed on the website.
4) Integrate Gallery2 into Joomla for photos.
5) Wordpress will have photos from Gallery2 embedded into posts.
6) All three platforms: Joomla, Wordpress and Gallery2 will be located at the one provider: Bluehost.
The whole “idea” is still very much under construction but all three can now be viewed by following the following links:
Website (Joomla): www.trupela.com/main
Blog (Wordpress): www.trupela.com/blog
Photos (Gallery2): http://gallery.trupela.com/
www.trupela.com will take you directly to the Website itself.
But there’s more… the most gut wrenching and painstaking of the lot…
How to migrate three years worth of work from one provider (Domain Direct) to the new provider (Bluehost) ???
The whole exercise…
Kind of like heaven and hell rolled into one…
A bit like life really.
Question… you ever seen this many links in one post???
