A weekend at the”Hut”

We head off to the village for the weekend for a well deserved rest.

For those of you that have forgotten what our “weekender” looks like here’s a glimpse…

The Hut

(The above photo was taken earlier this year when our friend Anthony stayed with us for the weekend)

It’s been hectic the past few weeks and I’m definitely looking forward to the R&R. No internet, no power, no running water and no worries!! Just fresh running water, beautiful scenery, the sound of the birds and kids playing, and of course fellow clan members.

It’s never easy getting up of a morning, packing and catching a bus down at the market. The PMV ride out to Mangiro is also never that comfortable. But once I get of that bus on the junction at the Highway and then start walking towards “home” - I start to feel re-invigorated, re-juvenated and relaxed.

So folks…

No blogging until Monday or Tuesday next week!

NB: Our phone has stopped working at home. How long it will take to fix is anyone’s guess. Going by some of the stories I read in the newspapers - dealing with Telikom PNG to fix a residential fault - could very well be start of a new nightmare.
