(The downside to letting someone else use one’s camera!!)
As we climb Daulo Pass
and take in the views,
as we zig-zag the potholes
and listen to radio news.
With Goroka behind us,
town life at a distance,
we approach Mangiro
and the load already lightens.
And once in the village,
all worries,
all woes,
dissipate into nothingness.
A weekend at the “Hut”,
light,
relaxing,
simplicity at it’s best.
No worries,
no burdens,
just the elements,
some food
and plenty of rest.
Only two nights
and we’ll go back refreshed,
such is village life,
a weekend at the “Hut”.
Kaubasis!!!
