Literally !!
A few weeks ago I took it upon myself to carry K27,000 in notes back to the village for distribution to the local farmers. This happened after the members of the Keto-Tapasi Association sold 6.1 tonnes of coffee parchment to Monpi Coffee.
Some of the stories I posted from this episode were…
Rantings: “Money” (28/4/08)
We’re back safely! (27/4/08)
A clandestine operation… (24/4/08)
The day I moved 10 tonnes of coffee!! (23/4/08)
Here’s a photo I’ve been meaning to share with you of what K27,000 actually looks like. The following photo was taken as the teller in the Goroka Branch of the ANZ Bank was hading over the cash.

Other photos from the “Payroll Run” weekend can be viewed in the Kaubasis Visit 20080425 – Payroll Run online album.
