Hi David,

Must have been interesting living in the Highlands during the 80's. I'm sure you would find that things have changed drastically since then.

The complexities of being married to a tribal are endless but also incredibly rewarding. The belonging and interaction I experience cannot be put into words and is very special.

I'm currently on assignment as a volunteer through Australian Volunteers International (AVI). This is my 2nd assignment and presently I am assigned to Goroka General Hospital as IT Manager.

And thanks for taking the time to read my blog.

Regards,

Hi Robert,

I found your blog very interesting and did read it to the end! I got it from P.N.G. Gossip. I worked in the Highlands in the early 80's in Wabag and am quite familiar with tribal disputes/wantok syatem. I travelled to Goroka and through Chimbu many times, such beautiful scenery and interesting people. I can't imagine the complexities of being married to a local girl- I admire you. What do you do in P.N.G.? Please feel free to reply. Best of luck.

Regards, em tasol.
