Malum Nalu

Malum is a Papua New Guinea journalist and writer who contributes quality feature articles to The National newspaper. Malum writes on a range of PNG topics including, local history, Information Technology and also Development issues to name a few. The PNG media has a reputation for very negative reporting and in my humble opinion Malum is one of the better journalists in PNG at present, his stories are positive, factual and varied.

Malum describes himself as (taken directly from his blog):

About Me

Hello my name is MALUM NALU and I am from PORT MORESBY, PAPUA NEW GUINEA. My blog has been set up especially to promote Papua New Guinea and what it has on offer. In this blog, you’ll find relevant, up-to-date information about and Papua New Guinea in general. I have worked as a journalist for several years in Papua New Guinea and have vast working experience in the country as well as extensive knowledge of it. You’ll read some of the features I have written over the years, plus new ones, garnished with a selection of breath-taking pictures. Your feedback is most welcome.

If you have an interest in PNG history may I suggest that you take a look at some of Malum’s recent articles:

Grave robbers wreak havoc in Lae cemeteries

History being rewritten with Bulolo Airport

Amelia Earhart and Papua New Guinea

The old Lae Airport

Come in like Errol Flynn

These are just a few of the many informative articles that he has published recently.

Interestingly, three of Malum’s recent stories were on the subject of Blogging (Yes! Blogging) and these have appeared in The National newspaper for the past three Fridays (Weekend Edition). Believe it or not but in two of these feature stories I actually get a mention!! (‘Almost’ famous).
