The act of giving creates an incredible feeling of reward and connection with other humans. The saying: “Give and you shall receive” could not be further from the truth. To give is to receive!

In the pursuit of the perfect blog combined with the fixation of wanting to attract more readers, I feel that I have perhaps digressed slightly… want I really want to do is to share with you my times and adventures in Papua New Guinea or commonly known as the Land of the Unexpected.
I got an email from my Mum the other day telling me how she difficult she was finding it to understand some of the stories I’ve been posting. Thanks for pulling me up Mum and reminding me that I need to focus on stories that are a little easier to read and perhaps more relevant to the topic in hand.
Which brings me back to the title for today’s post…
Since coming to PNG in early 2005 and thanks to the family and friends back in Australia I have had the privilege of giving a ton of stuff away. Our give-aways do not involve cash nor funding for large scale projects, our give aways are more aimed at the local kids and what you might refer to as the average folks in Papua New Guinea.

And each time I give something away I record the moment with my digital camera and photos from the give-aways can be viewed here.

Originally I come up with a concept of a wishlist to help out the locals but this term is nowadays all too associated with “wishlist for me”. In hindsight the term “Give-away” might have been more appropriate. The power of hindsight never ceases to amaze me!
