A village Princess

Remember Mr and Mrs Oink or Prof and Princess - the two pig beings that put me on the Papua New Guinea “Big man” map?

Originally a gift from Uncle Joel, we looked after the two piglets during our time at UNITECH in 2006. Kau-kau twice a day, the before sunrise “oink-oinks” - please feed me wake up calls, how could one ever forget?. We both grew fond of our two little babies and looked after them like one would there own kids.

(One of the Oinks - Princess I think - poses for the camera in 2006 when we were living in Purari Drive at UNITECH)

Prof was named after the boss of the Department of Business Studies (who has since had his contract terminated by the way due to non performance!) and Princess was Eli’s choice of names. Prof was a boy pig and Princess the gal. I say Prof “was” as he was given the chop during Mum’s visit to PNG last year in honour of her visit to Kaubasis village.

And if Prof met the “club” fate then what is Princess up to?

Still alive and oink’ing away I’m happy to report!

As they say - a picture equals a thousand words - so let the image speak for itself. Here I am last weekend having a good heart to heart with my dear Princess!

Having a heart to heart with Princess

(That’s me on the left by the way! We had a lot of catching up to do as we had not seen each other for months!!)

Anyone caught staring up my shorts will be fined a kakaruk!!
