A disturbing phone call
just received a rather disturbing phone call from Uncle Steven in West Taraka. Eli, her Mum and young Isaac left Goroka this morning to travel down to Lae. They have not arrived yet – nor have they returned to Goroka. News of road blocks and raskol activity around Kompiri and Barola along the Highlands Highway. There are times in Papua New Guinea when the possibility of being in close range to extreme violence makes me sick to the gut – right this moment is one of those times.…
