Yesterday I returned to the village again to try and find Manam our cat. As I have already shared with you – Manam went missing two weeks ago after an overnight visit to the “Hut” and I have returned each Sunday since to try and find him to bring him back home in Goroka town.
Although he has been spotted by the locals on a number of occasions – he remains free and at large in the bush around Mangiro Junction. I did manage to “snap” him with one of his new girl friends (see photo above) – he looked rather content and just as I was about to lean over and pick him up – he did the bolt with his friend in tow.
Rats and lots of them, boy cats, girl cats and lots of bush for running amok. Why would he come back to his boring old home in Goroka? All jokes aside – I do miss my “besty” and will continue to return to the village every Sunday until I find him, hear that he’s no longer been spotted or someone tells me that he’s met the unfortunate fate of ending up as a meal to a group of the local drug “bodies”.
Manam… we miss you mate!!
