Heading down to Lae this morning for a few days of some well deserved R&R. Fingers crossed – I’ll be on that PMV and hurtling down the Highlands H’way by around 9:00am this morning. Although travelling long distances by PMV in Papua New Guinea has never been a favourite pastime – I am certainly looking forward to seeing some of the old faces.
The main reason for the Lae visit is to catch-up with Roger, a good friend of ours whom is calling it quits after eight years at UNITECH. The other reason for the visit is to drop off young Isaac at West Taraka, as Eli will shortly be going to Port Moresby to participate in the “PNG Games”.
Wish me luck! I remember that 1st “extreme bus ride” between Lae and Goroka almost five years ago and for those that read that story – you’ll be happy to hear that there will be ample toilet paper in my travel bilum. Just in case!
