The wishlist has been in suspended animation for some time now. Since arriving in Sydney and talking to people about my experiences in PNG, many have offered to donate clothes and other items for me to take back to Lae.
Just over a month ago my sister Yolande sent me a box full of children's clothes. One afternoon I headed down to the local markets and handed them out to the locals. You should have been there to witness the gratitude and joy on their faces. I wasn't far behind them in the glee stakes. For those of you that missed the story and photos from that afternoon please check it out at “Thanks Yolande !!“.
So where am I going with this ?
Anyone that has anything that they would like to donate for me to take back to Lae can do so. I will probably organise to send a box via air freight before I leave the shores of downunder in mid January. I am more than happy to cover the cost of the freight. So anything you have lying around the house that you might end up throwing out anyway - please contact me at rschilt@hotmail.com to make further arrangements.
Once I get back to PNG and start handing out these donated items I will be taking photos and posting these to my blog.
Stay safe…
