I was wandering into work this morning and saw a driver of a car coming from the opposite direction throw en empy coke can out of his window. I was annoyed. One of the things that irks me about the people around town is how little respect they show for their environment. Lae is a filthy place and those times such as this morning when I see “tossers” I understand why. Interestingly the villages that I have visited are all clean and fairly litter free. The towns like Moresby, Lae and Goroka a totally different number. Shame on the man that tossed his coke can out of his car window this morning - I wander how you would feel if someone did that in your front yard.
On another note my vollie mate Kevin from Aiyura stayed over last night. Can the man talk !! I reckon the man could talk the head off a low flying duck given half chance. Good bloke though and I am happy to have made contact with him. We all have shortcomings and relationships (to me) are about accepting people as they are - strengths and weaknesses. Besides, whose to say that the weakness hear isn’t my impatience or inability to listen to “long” yarns. If you read this Kevin - I luv ya mate !

Have a heap of marking to do and I have discovered new methods of procrastination. In my opinion this aspect is certainly the bane of academia. On a brighter note I have a success story to report! After three late nights and struggling on the incline of the Linux learning curve - have finally got sound working under Linux on my laptop. I luv it ! The truth is I really enjoy fiddling with my own “hardware” but detest fiddling on someone elses. After a while people just give up asking me - this suits me fine.
