How quick does time pass? It seems that the older one gets the faster the clock ticks over. It's been a long time since I partied and banged my head on new year's eve and this time round it wasn't any different. The days of going crowd chasing in the city on a night such as new years eve are well and truly over. A quiet night at John's place out at Dural was enough entertainment for this person. John's got one of those ginormous TV's and so I watched the Sydney Harbour fireworks with him and his family.
What about new year's resolutions?
What about them?
What does the start of a new year mean to me?
Not a great deal - just another day really. Much emphasis is placed on these festivities - mostly for commercial reasons.
One thing I do enjoy about his time of the year… family gatherings. Getting together with the clan. Hugs and the goodwill given and received. Also the relaxed atmosphere and of course the shared meals and food. Not really into presents, although it's always nice to receive something that has been chosen especially by the giver. The consumer vibe of the whole xmas thing is a real turn off.
Buy - buy - buy !!!
Each to their own.
And still on the subject of xmas and new year - I would like to take this opportunity to wish all of you the following for the upcoming 12 months:
1) Health
2) Wealth
3) Wisdom
4) Lightness
5) Balance
6) Peace
7) Fulfillment
8) Awareness
9) Laughter
10) Adventure
And may all your dreams come true (except for the nightmares!)
