Had a top day today.
Woke up early, as Mum was headed out to Homebush for the tennis. Mum does a lot of volunteering you see, we all knock her from time to time - reckon she does too much of it. Who are we to judge what Mum does with her time, she's active isn't she besides, I admire her for her zest, motivation and love for people. That's my Mum.
5am I got up and made Mum a cup of tea. I ended up “naturally” with the mandatory ciggie and coffee. We had a bit of a chat - we do lot's of talking Mum and me. After we both had almost woken up, I drove Mum down to the station, she hopped on a train towards Sydney and good old me, I ended up going home… back to bed.
Till 10am. (Zzzzzzzzz….. zzzzzzzzz…… zzzzzzz….)
Sat down with Yolande and Madeleine for the second morning sitting. More talk and more sharing. We then decided to head down to Pearl Beach for some ocean and beach and of course a coffee at “Sit and Chats” cafe. I enjoyed sharing some time with Yol today. Madeleine sure was a hand full, she started to cry and went into a tantrum after she had to relinquish a swing for another youngster that had been hanging around with his grandma waiting for his turn to come up. Pearl Beach was more crowded than normal due to folks being on holidays for most of January.
Once back home we both cleaned up and packed, Yolande and Madeleine were headed back to Bateau Bay and I into Hornsby for a few chores. The drive down the F3 was as splendid as always - surely an admirable piece of human construction - lots of water along the way and of course the normal congestion of traffic as can be expected during the holiday season.
Hornsby sure has changed over the years. Used to be my old stomping ground - but tis no longer. Plenty of places to spend lots of money - western consumerism at it's best. My mate Brett always says that Frank Lowe is a social terrorist, I reckon he's spot on!
First thing I did when I got to Hornsby was check my old PO Box for mail and also enquire about the procedure to cancel the PO Box service. Next I headed down to CCK for a catchup with Sofia and Nathan - ended up spending around one and a half hours with them, chatting and picking their brains about possible help for the kickboxers back in PNG. On the way out they gave me a Qi Gong DVD and I also managed to snap some photos of the two of them in the gym.
The Medicare office was the next stop over followed by some window shopping and a late lunch. Eventually I ended up getting a 30 min massage in the Westfield… excellent value! First massage in a year and boy I think my body really needed it. Lastly I swung by “Gelatissimo” for a cone of honey and nougat gelato : yummmmmm!!
5:30pm and time to head to Dural….
John, Therese and the kids +
…high speed internet
and that dam mouse - runs around at night time like it owns the joint.
Catching up with John and clan is always nice, especially the kids. Chaos and mess seems to rule their home nevertheless they always manage to get things done - somehow! The externals are incidental anyway. Within their family unit there is always tonnes of love, laughter and acceptance.
More internet…
Plenty of internet…
Perhaps too much internet…
Definitely too much internet!!
Who cares!!… Got that Suse Linux 10.2 to work on my laptop.
Yeeehaaaaaaaah…….. !!!!!!!!
