This weekend was extra special.
Why?
Friday:
- Setup new DELL computer for my sister Yolande and her family.
- Crashed at Yol's (1st time ever I think).
Saturday:
- Took Yolande's 2x boys : Jackson and Max - to the Power House Museum in the City. It was an exhibition on The Great Wall of China that drew us to the “PHm” o begin with although it was definitely all the other stuff they have on display that kept us there entertained for half a day. A great place to hang out for a few hours if you are ever passing through Sydney. Latish afternoon caught the train from Strathfield to Hornsby - where I indulged in a top 30 minute chinese massage. Headed out to my brother's place out at Dural to hang out with him and his family.
Sunday:
- Took my four nieces into Hornsby and we hung out together for half a day. My nieces are cool! Caught a movie: “Stranger than Fiction“. We pigged out on McDonalds and KFC, ate popcorn and slurpies, even had ice-cream. No one ended up sick (lucky for uncle Rob!).
One of the things I miss the most about living in PNG is not being able to hang out with the nieces and nephews. Luv being an uncle. Next best thing to being a Dad I reckon! Since moving to PNG… each time I see the young one's they have all grown so much.
What do you think are the odds…
Of me having kids some time over the next couple of years??
Bad luck… I'm not a betting man.
What if I was?
I'm not!
Ask Eli!!

Want an example of an incredibly generous gesture?
John's girls (my nieces)…. through their own effort and over the xmas break - managed to raise $75. They setup a stall/cafe and sold food and drinks just outside where they were holidaying. They have given me this money and want me to take it back to PNG and organise to pay for a young girl's school fees. Note that 75 bucks should cover school fees for approx one whole year. An amazing gesture. Sometimes I think that adults have far more to learn from kids than kids from adults. I will be following up and sharing more on this in due course. Watch this space!!
Overall… the weekend was a success. I have come back to Mum's relaxed, clear and light.
Thanks kids!!
