Current living situation (Written 18/2/03)

Since arriving in Goroka last Thursday we have been staying the Mendikwae
Lodge in town. Certainly no four or five star hotel but good enough under
the circumstances and considering the Hospital is covering the cost of
accommodation for both Eli and me, it's OK. My only gripe would be that
there has not been any hot water since we arrived - something to do with the
hot water system being busted and the plumber being really, really busy. I
have complained to management and although I'm not impressed I need to put
it down to one of those PNG things that does happen from time to time. An
acceptance job basically.

Watching 60 Minutes whilst writing this post. and I discover something
comforting about having Ray Martin in the lounge room. I am 48 years old and
have never owned a TV. Could this possibly change? They do call PNG : the
Land of the Unexpected. Hang around and find out!! To TV or not to TV.

Work day tomorrow. and where do I start?

No office,
No desk,
No internet or email,
No hot water,
No home,
No budget,
No plan.

And most importantly. no magic wand!!

There is only one thing I can really say:

Bring it on!

Bring it on - baby!!
