Hot Shot….

The face of “old” Papua New Guinea…

Hot Shot.... photo

This photo was taken on my visit to Koko in the Unggai-Bena District of the Eastern Highlands on 8/6/07. I travelled out to Koko with the Clinton Foundation and spent the day meeting locals and taking lots of photos.

There's something about the face of this old man that I find fascinating.  Not sure if it the eyes, the man's face itself or perhaps how he is dressed.

When I look at the photo I see:

- The old.
- Toughness.
- Softness.
- Strength.
- Compassion.
- Balance.
- Peace.

Papua New Guinea has many such old men and it's always a privilege for me to meet and sit and chat with these golden oldies. It's a real shame they are slowly disappearing. Such is progress.
