Back from Madang

We got back from Madang at around lunch time on Tuesday. Five days away from the hustle and bustle of life in Goroka turned out to be very relaxing. It was also nice to catch up with Nick and Bernadette and spend a couple of days in Bogia. The North Coast of Papua New Guinea is beautiful and I totally understand why many expats choose to settle down there – however, it was good to come back home, to the familiar surroundings and also the coolness of Highlands weather

Back from Madang

We have arrived back safely from Madang. The long PMV ride to and from the Nth Coast was well worth effort. Still trying to find the energy and motivation to blog. Stay tuned!

Gone to Madang for a few days

We leave for Madang this morning (Thursday) and will be away for a few days. We expect to return early next week. The time away is going to give me a nice break from blogging (no posts) and emails will therefore also have to wait.

Photos from Goroka town

For many years – Saturday mornings have been my favourite time of the week. Now that I have lived and worked in Goroka for almost two years this little quirk still holds true. Most Saturday mornings you will find the two of us wandering around town, interacting with locals and clan members that we happen to bump into, having a chew and a joke with the street sellers, perhaps doing a little shopping at the main markets and occasionally having a couple with Uncle Fred down at “Las Wara”
